4. Jordan's prime minister resigned after thousands protested tax hikes. Protests began last week in the capital of Amman against austerity measures aimed at tackling the nation's growing debt.
5. Starbucks chairman Howard Schultz is stepping down. There are rumors he is preparing for a presidential run.
6. Apple unveiled its new software roadmap in its biggest conference of the year. Among the other announcements: personalized emojis, new privacy controls and anti-distraction features.
7. Australia's official airline changed the way it referred to Taiwan. Qantas will refer to Taiwan as a province of China rather than a country after pressure from Beijing.
8. Japan is punishing 20 officials in a cronyism scandal that has plagued Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso has volunteered to give up a year's salary in response.
9. Airbnb properties in Sydney, Australia, will be capped at 180 rental days each year. Some argue Airbnb and casual renting has put pressure on the local property market.
10. NASA is extending its $1 billion Jupiter mission to 2021. Juno has orbited the giant planet for nearly two years, returning dazzling images of colossal storms and chaotic cloud bands.
